A balanced sleeping climate is a prerequisite for restful sleep. Due to its fine structure, down has the best insulation properties and is very light. Wool can absorb and release moisture through its capillaries. This function gives the wool a unique climate-balancing property. Our unique DownWool® filling consists of 70% top-quality down and 30% fine wool from the Alps.

In this combination, down and wool are an unbeatable team when it comes to insulation, climate and lightness.

The down-proof shell of our Grüezi bag duvets is just as unique as the DownWool® filling. After intensive research and numerous tests, we decided on a material composition of 80% high-quality cotton and 20% smartcel.

The smartcel sensitive fiber is a cellulose fiber made from wood that contains the vital trace element zinc. Our duvets are therefore particularly suitable for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin.

The additives required to produce the fiber are used in a 100% closed cycle. This saves resources and the environment. When selecting materials, we rely on renewable raw materials, which are environmentally friendly, resource-saving and 100% biodegradable.

smartcel supports the DownWool® system in creating an optimal sleeping climate. Pure relaxation for people, body and skin through an optimal interaction of both technologies to promote healthy sleep.

An elaborate chamber system prevents the filling from slipping. This ensures that the filling does not collect at the foot end and insulation is no longer possible on the upper body. Coffered ceilings with smaller chambers also adapt better to the body shape.

In the all-season and winter quilts, the chambers are sewn with a bridge. This avoids unpleasant cold bridges.

We have the cassette sleeves sewn in Europe. The DownWool® production as well as the filling of the casings takes place in Germany. This ensures short transport routes and saves unnecessary CO ₂ emissions.

HOW THE UNIQUE DOWNWOOL ISOLATION WORKS

The natural high-end DownWool insulation is a mixture of 70% high-quality RDS-certified down , which ensures a high level of insulation, and 30% wool from the Alpine region, which acts like a light, natural air conditioner. The combination is perfect. Nothing insulates like high-quality down. The 30% wool content absorbs moisture and keeps the down naturally drier. Down has a very high insulation performance with a low weight. However, down only insulates as long as it is dry and fluffy. With increasing humidity, the fine ramifications of the down collapse, which significantly reduces the insulating effect of the down. For this reason, the down is often treated with water-repellent agents. With DownWool, this is made superfluous by adding the wool content. Because wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture - without losing its insulating effect. Furthermore, the wool is very temperature-regulating and naturally creates a comfortable, pleasant microclimate.
