Innovations
Grüezi bag® is THE innovation in insulation filling, cut and materials: DownWool®, DownWool® Hybrid, WoodWool and SilkWool perfect the sleeping and carrying climate based on wool.
- DownWool®, DownWool® Hybrid: Made in Germany
- Silkwool
- cut
- Innovative features demonstrate meticulous attention to detail: an angled zipper so you can rest your feet on, not next to, the sleeping bag; a comfortable cut that prevents any feeling of being constricted; and a sophisticated jacket design that moves with you during sports without feeling restrictive.
- What is not good enough is reinvented: the first sleeping mat with a two-layer construction and the ability to be connected.
- The first sleeping bag with a 3D dome mosquito net.
- The first jacket with the insulation combination of down and wool (DownWool®) and with the insulation combination of silk and wool (SilkWool).
Why different insulation? It's physics!
Large temperature differences result in different physical requirements.
DownWool®
Down, for example, provides excellent insulation but is sensitive to moisture, and one tends to overheat quickly in it. Wool, on the other hand, is robust, resistant to moisture, and ensures a wonderfully balanced climate. Combined in DownWool®, consisting of 70% RDS-certified down and wool from Alpine sheep, we achieve entirely new properties. DownWool® is less sensitive to moisture, as proven by laboratory tests from the renowned Hohenstein testing institute. At up to 90% humidity, DownWool® even shows increased loft. Furthermore, the wool has a temperature-regulating and climate-balancing effect, creating a pleasantly dry climate inside the sleeping bag or jacket.
The materials prove it: nothing beats nature when it comes to insulation and comfort. It's just a matter of finding the right combination. That's why we determine the optimal amount of wool and down for every sleeping bag and jacket to achieve a balanced microclimate.

DownWool hybrid
For extreme cold, we use our DownWool hybrid construction. The major advantage of this layered construction is that the moisture generated inside the sleeping bag doesn't condense and freeze on the outer material as usual, but is absorbed by the alpine wool and released into the cold surrounding air. This keeps the down dry and fluffy, allowing it to retain its excellent insulating properties even at extremely low temperatures, well below -15°C.
