BIOPOD DOWNWOOL KIDSTEEN
High-quality youth sleeping bag with innovative DownWool insulation
When trekking, hiking, camping and travelling, children and teenagers also need good sleeping comfort.
The Biopod DownWool KidsTeen was developed so that a new model is not needed every year. It grows with the child up to adolescent age and can therefore be used from approx. 100 cm to 170 cm body height.
The mummy sleeping bag, which is fully certified according to OEKO-TEX® 100, has an innovative zip that allows you to comfortably place your feet on the top of the sleeping bag when it gets too warm.
A deep and recuperative sleep is especially important after an active day. That's why our sleeping bags are cut more comfortably, while we also pay attention to light weight and small packing volume.
The unique Feature of our DownWool sleeping bags is their innovative insulation: DownWool is a natural insulation made of 70% down and 30% wool and combines the advantages of both natural materials. Very good insulation and a pleasant feel-good climate.
HOW THE UNIQUE DOWNWOOL INSULATION WORKS
The natural high-end DownWool-Insulation is a blend of 70% high-quality RDS-certified down, which provides high insulation, and 30% wool from the Alpine region, which acts like a lightweight natural air conditioner. The combination is perfect. Nothing insulates as well as high-quality down. The 30% wool content absorbs any moisture that arises and thus keeps the down naturally drier. Down has a very high insulating capacity at a low weight. However, down only insulates as long as it is dry and fluffy. With increasing humidity, the fine branching of the down collapses, which considerably reduces the insulating effect of the down. For this reason, the down is often treated with water-repellent agents. With DownWool, this is made unnecessary by adding the wool content. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without losing its insulating effect. Furthermore, wool is very temperature regulating and creates a pleasant microclimate in a natural way.
The result is a unique sleeping climate, which means that the temperature range in which you feel comfortable and sleep well in a DownWool sleeping bags is particularly wide. This makes DownWool sleeping bags popular all-rounders.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL ®?
DownWool® is an innovative filling that provides a comfortable climate across an exceptionally wide temperature range – without making you too hot or too cold. At the same time, it is much less sensitive to moisture than conventional down.
This is achieved through a mechanical combination of 70% RDS-certified down and 30% mulesing-free alpine wool . This patent-pending combination is durable, washable, and provides a completely new level of comfort.
How does that work?
Down: unbeatable warmth
High-quality down provides excellent insulation, offering maximum warmth at minimal weight. Its weakness: it clumps quickly when wet, losing its insulating properties. This is precisely where DownWool® comes in.
Wool: clever moisture and temperature management
The added wool absorbs up to 30% of its own weight in moisture , releases it in a controlled manner to the outside, and thus keeps the down noticeably drier. Even at 90% humidity, DownWool® remains fluffy and insulating because the wool fibers stand upright and increase the warmth by up to 30% .
Furthermore, wool prevents unpleasant evaporative cooling, even warms when damp, neutralizes odors, and ensures a balanced microclimate. This means your body needs to expend less energy on temperature regulation.
DownWool® - the perfect combination
The result is a filling that provides excellent insulation, is extremely versatile, and offers you optimal comfort in a wide range of conditions – even in high humidity. This ensures you always feel comfortable in your DownWool® product and are optimally protected on every adventure.

Repair, cleaning and refill service
CARE
- The washing instructions are located in the inner pocket of the sleeping bag.
- The sleeping bag can be hand-washed with a down detergent at a maximum temperature of 30°C/86°F or machine-washed on a wool cycle. Please turn inside out, close the zipper, perform an extra rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
- Remove the items from the machine, loosen them up a bit, and perform another spin cycle at a maximum of 600 revolutions.
Dry
- Tumble dry at max. 60 °C/ 140 °F and be sure to add 2-3 tennis balls for better fluffing.
- Please perform several drying cycles, removing the item from the machine after each cycle, shaking or loosening it well, and allowing it to cool down in between.
- The dryer must be set to a timer program to dry the down completely.
- If a dryer is not used, the sleeping bag can be placed on a clothes drying rack on sunny days and shaken frequently to allow air to reach the sleeping bag from above and below.
When is the drying process complete?
- If the item still does not have its original thickness, the drying process must be repeated until the sleeping bag feels more filled than before.
- Depending on the waterproofness of the outer material, the drying process can take different amounts of time (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
-
The down must be completely dry. If the sleeping bag hasn't been properly dried and fluffed, the down feathers may clump together, which can irreparably damage the sleeping bag. You can tell the product is completely dry because it will feel fuller and thicker than before. Damp down can have an unpleasant odor, but this will disappear after drying.
TIP
- Down sleeping bags should be dried in a tumble dryer with tennis balls from time to time or after every trip to remove excess moisture.
- Sleeping bags must be stored open and dry in their storage bag.
- When packing the sleeping bag into the compression sack, it must be stuffed with the foot end first, not rolled or folded.
- Airing out a sleeping bag is better than washing it. DownWool® sleeping bags rarely need washing, as wool itself has natural odor-resistant and dirt-repellent properties. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself (like this). Heavily soiled or greasy sleeping bags can be machine washed.
- A sleeping mat should be used under every sleeping bag, as the insulation is compressed downwards inside the sleeping bag and therefore cannot trap air and thus heat. You can find more information about choosing the right sleeping mat here .
